Inactivating Users
Inactivating FieldAlytics User Accounts
When inactivating accounts, there are several things to consider. Setting the status to “Inactive” in the User Admin tool will remove the users access, however other settings need to be considered within FieldAlytics to remove all notifications and data flow that this user may have set up.
Requirements:
Inactivating users requires a FieldAlytics user login who is a VAR Admin with profile access greater than or equal to the account to be inactivated. This is required to see the user to be inactivated within the Administrative tool: User Admin.
Inactivating User Accounts:
- Access the User Admin tool by selecting the three horizontal lines from the top right of the screen when logged into FieldAlytics and selecting Administration, then User Admin.
- Search or select the user to be inactivated from the “Select a user:” drop-down [1].
- Navigate to the Account [2] tab within this tool, then move the slider [3] from ACTIVE to INACTIVE. The user is now inactive and can no longer login.
Breaking Data Flow Connections
Users may have setup data connections. The connections that users have setup will vary depending on the user, but the most common ones are below. Impersonating a user will be required to break most data connections.
Please note: These actions cannot be un-done without credentials to setup a new connection.
Within the User Admin, select the user.
Please note: If the user is already inactive, click on the eye icon [4] to view inactive users.
- Click on the Impersonate User icon [5].
- The screen will re-load with the same view the user would see if they had logged in, this can be done with either active or inactive users.
Revoke data connections, common data connections are:
Removing User Notifications
Users may have a number of notifications setup that do not depend on the user having an active user. The most common places to check for, and disable if desired, are:
- Verify that no alert exists in the tool Admin Alerts. You may remove any automatic alerts created for this user.
- Check the Information under this user’s grower(s), this is done by expanding the grower on the Main tab and selecting the speech bubble icon under the grower. The grower many have Work Order Alerts that need disabled.
- If the user has setup templates within the tool: Automated Prescription Generation, these templates will continue to generate prescriptions, however alerts will be sent to the users email in the event of an error. Removing or replacing these templates will prevent this notification.
- Verify that the user does not have an Additional Email entered in the Location Preferences tool under the Master Soil Book tab.
