Raven Slingshot to FieldAlytics Integration Process
Among the many handy integrations that FieldAlytics offers is our Raven Slingshot Integration. With this integration, users with the Raven Viper 4 and Raven Slingshot equipment can enjoy seamless data transferal of variable rate prescription maps, as-applied data events, seeding maps, and as-planted events. For more information on how to activate this integration, follow the steps below:
Raven Slingshot Setup Requirements before Connecting to FieldAlytics
Raven Required Equipment
- Slingshot Device Kit
- RS1 with RS1 Slingshot Unlock
Slingshot Setup with Raven
Once required equipment from Raven is installed, contact your Raven Dealer for Slingshot account activation and setup. The following information for your account set up with your dealer is listed below.
- Company/Account holder information
- Employee list that will have access to the slingshot account and their information.
- RS1 or Field Hub Barcode and Serial Number (Sticker on the back of the RS1)
- IMEI number (located on the back of the Field Hub or in the RS1 object pool on the Viper 4 once the RS1 is unlocked)
- Tip for finding the IMEI number: Once the Viper Field Computer is on, go into the UT Screen (the UT button on the bottom left-hand corner). Select the Slingshot Object Pool (Frog jumping over the Raven Logo in the box on the left side of the screen). Once in the Slingshot Object Pool, select the Cellular Information Tab, this will display all the Slingshot Modem Status, IMEI number, Cellular Phone Number and SIM Number. If this information is unavailable, contacting Raven or your Raven Dealer for Support.
Instructions for Creating an API Access Key
- Log into your Raven Slingshot Portal Account
- Place your cursor over the Share Tab at the top of our Slingshot Account page, and select Data Access Control.
- Select Create button under the API Keys bar. A "Create Access Key" window will pop-up. Give the Key a unique name to differentiate it from past/future keys.
- Place a check mark in the box next to "Enable", add a unique description to the access key.
- Refer to the attached picture below if any issues arise locating the selections above.
- Select Create to complete the key creation process. The Access Key information (not the key itself) can be edited at any time from the Data Access Control page in Slingshot Account under the Share tab at the top of the page. To edit this information, select one of the following icons.
Connecting Raven Slingshot Access Key to FieldAlytics Account
Creating an Asset (if not one already)
- Sign into the EFC system FieldAlytics website with your valid username and password.
- Click on the Assets tab at the top of the screen.
- Right click on the Grower name you are adding the asset to. Add an asset folder, then right click on the folder, and select "Add Asset". Give the asset and name and select "Application”. Please note: The asset must be one of the various "application" asset types.
- IF asset is already existing, search through the Profile Tree on the left-hand side to find the correct asset to assign Slingshot API Access Key to.
- Select "Edit Asset" (shown in figure below) and a pop-up will display. Please Note: The following inputs must be in their corresponding fields to properly link and activate Slingshot Connectivity.
- Select the “Third Party API” tab at the top of the pop-up as shown in the figure below.
Use the drop down to select "Raven Slingshot".
- Wireless Access Key: Enter Raven Slingshot API access key. Please note: Raven provides this key. The following is an example of how a Raven Wireless API key may appear: (C5FAEBE6-C2B8-0D4E-2B4A-B5958DF462XX). After adding the Wireless API Key, press submit, then select your machine from the list of available assets to begin the wireless connection.
- Note: If a red messages appears that states "No Field Hubs Enrolled", then the Slingshot Wireless Access Key and the Field Hub do not have the same "owner" in the Slingshot Website. The Access Key and the Slingshot machine/Field Hub/RS1 must have the same "Owner" listed in Slingshot.
- If tracking is enabled for this machine, Slingshot will report location information to FieldAlytics once every 10 minutes.
