Location Preferences

The Location Preferences tool allows users to set defaults for a variety of categories per Location. Please note that selection made here effect all users for that Location.

To access the Location Preferences tool, begin by clicking on the menu icon in the upper right corner of the screen and selecting Tools.

Now, select Location Pref from the dropdown menu.

Each of the categories within Location Preferences will need to have a location selected next to begin.

Fertility

The Fertility tab of the Location Preferences tool controls which options come pre-selected within Fertility Module and the Elemental Defaults settings on a per Element basis. 

Global Defaults

  • Application cost: causes a defaulted value to appear in the Application Cost (per acre) field within Fertility tab.
  • Email Option: causes the Fertility "Email Results" tick box to be checked or un-checked.
  • One Per Page: causes the Fertility "One Field per Report" box to be checked or un-checked.
  • Application Cost Calc: choose between application cost calculated by Field Area, or Applied Area.
  • Product Cost Calc: choose product cost calculations to be run on the Applied Area or by the Field area.

Other Fertility Preferences

Hover Over the tool tip to view a brief description of each of the preferences.

Element Defaults

Element defaults are set per element. Click on Element Defaults to expand the list of available elements. Click on the edit icon to the right of an element to edit; then input defaults into the Product, Max Rate, Min Rate and Switch Rate fields. Click Submit. Please Note: Elemental defaults set here will also take hold within the Work Order tab for "Soil Book" work order types.

  • Product: default product for each element.
  • Max Rate: Max Rate default for product.
  • Min Rate: Min Rate default for product.
  • Switch Rate: Switch Rate default for product. Switch Rate effects numbers that fall below the Minimum Rate and 0. Numbers below the switch rate will be set to 0, and numbers above the switch rate, and the switch rate itself will be set to the minimum rate.
  • Target Element Display: Selecting a Target Element Display for a product will allow the soil elemental rates to display on a fertility map when Target Element is selected as the Point Overlay
  • Target Element Note: A custom description can be added on a per element, per location basis to be displayed in Master Soil Book request by choosing the option "Show Custom Element Descriptions"

Crop Defaults

The Crop Defaults section is used to set default values for crops added to a Seeding Analysis within Fertility. Click on Crop Defaults to expand the list of available crops. Click on the edit icon to the right of an element to edit; then input defaults into the Product, Max Rate, Min Rate, Switch Rate, Price, and Seeds per Bag fields.

Lab

The Lab tab will control which labs are available to each location.

  1. Select all desired labs by clicking them individually, or clicking the blue Select All link.

  1. Click Submit to save the selections.

Equation

The Equation tab controls which equations are available and the default equation for each location.

  1. Click the square selection box for each of the equations needed for the selected location to use within Fertility. Check the top most box to select all equations.
  2. Click the circle radial button to make an equation the default equation for a location.

  1. Click Submit to save the preferences.

Removal

The Removal tab, of the Location Preferences Tool controls the N, P205, and K20 removal values per commodity. These values will come into play in the Fertility tab, for removal recommendations.

  1. Make changes to the removal values of the available crops. The defaulted removal values are supplied by IPNI (International Plant Nutrition Institute) removal chart.

  1. Click Submit.
  • Clicking Reset restores all values to system default.

Work Order

The Work Order tab of the Location Preferences tool will allow work order default selections to be chosen.

  • Work Order Table Column Preference: This Option No Longer used for the Work Order Module.
  • Include Background Imagery on PDF: This option controls if background imagery will be included on Work Order PDFs. If set to "No" the "roads" map view will be used instead.
  • Make Field Transparent: This option turns off the red "field area" indicator layer on Work Order Maps.
  • Show Work Orders in Main Profile Tree: Selected statuses show work orders as a layer within the main tab profile tree.
  • Exclude Field Summary: This option excludes the Field Summary Page from the PDF.
  • Exclude Tank Mix Page from Work Order PDF: This option excludes the tank mix page from Work Order PDF.
  • Equal Batches: This option sets the default selection for Equal Batches in the Dispatch Options window of Operations.
  • Require Application Timing Selection: Checking this option will require the user entering the job to select an application timing in the job options.
  • Show Fertilizer Product Group Options: Checking this option will give users the option to group fertilizer products by a blend group number. This option is only relevant to Kahler blenders. Users may also need to contact their Kahler rep to set this option on the Kahler blender.

  • Kahler Naming: Controls the naming of jobs sent to Kahler, see Kahler Automation - Submitting Jobs.
  • Blender Product ID: The system will use the "FA Product GUID" by default. Only groups wanting to utilize the ERP Product ID will need to update to this preference.
  • Grower Pickup Status: This setting effect pickup Delivery tickets associated with a blender. Once the blender has dispensed the products, the Job will be automatically be updated to the selected status (Prepared, Completed, or Finalized)

Soil Sampling

  • Include Directed Sampling Map: This option causes Directed Sampling maps to be included when printing Soil Sampling work orders by default.
  • Collect GPS Field Boundary: This option adds the task of running a new Boundary on created Soil Sampling work orders.
  • Sample Methods to Display: Controls what soil sampling methods are available for selection within the soil sample work order set up process. You can add or remove methods for the specified location as desired. Clicking on the white space in the box will produce a dropdown list of methods to choose from.

Soil Book

  • Default Target pH: Define the default Target pH for Soil Book Work Orders
  • Default Controller: Here, a default controller format can be added to Soil Book work order exports.
  • Include Farm/Field Maps: This option causes Farm and Field maps to be included with Soil Book work order types.
  • Include Soil Type Maps: This option causes SSURGO soil type maps to be included with Soil Book work orders.
  • Include Sample ID Maps: This options causes the Sample ID Maps to be included with Soil Book work orders.
  • Include Sample Summary Maps: This option causes Sample Summary map pages to be included with Soil Book work orders.
  • Include Elemental Maps: This option causes soil element maps to be included with Soil Book work order types.
  • Include Rx Summary Maps: This option causes Rx Summary Maps to be includes with Soil Book work order types by default.
  • Create Aggregate Maps: This option causes Soil Book work orders to create Aggregate (farm level) maps by default.
  • Use Tender Map in Work Order PDF: This option allows the creation of an Aerial Map from the selected distance options ranging from 500ft to 10,000ft

Records

  • Automatically Create Record for Completed WO Job: Once a Work Order's status is set to Complete a Record will be created in the Records Module.

Master Soil Book

The Master Soil Book tab of the Location Preferences tool controls which options come pre-selected within the Master Soil Book menu window.

  • Include Sampling Overview Map: The Sampling Overview Map shows soil sampled Fields on a farm level, color coded by year sampled.
  • Include Farm/Field Maps: These maps are single field maps with acreage.
  • Include Aggregate Farm/Field Maps: These maps are farm level field maps with acreage.
  • Include Soil Type Maps: This option is for field level SSURGO soil type maps.
  • Include Aggregate Soil Type Map: This option is for farm level SSURGO soil types maps.
  • Include Sample ID Reports: Sample ID reports indicate soil sampling points within the field, and field acres on a page sized Map of the field(s).
  • Include Aggregate Farm Sample ID Maps: This report page is like the Sample ID report, but on a farm level.
  • Include Sample Summary w/Data Reports: This report contains a smaller Sample Id map, with a full nutrient breakdown per sample point. It also contains nutrient min, max and averages as well.
  • Include Aggregate Field Element Maps: This option is for farm level field element maps.
  • Include Elemental Field Maps: These are single page elemental maps that generate for all the elements selected within the "Elements " section.
  • Include 4-Panel Elemental Field Maps: This option is designed to save paper and groups Elemental maps for the same field onto a single page (up to 4).
  • Include Rx Summary Reports: This option generates a Rx Summary to go with any live fertility rec made within the Master Soil Book menu.(Live Fert.rec options are only on farm and field level MSB requests)
  • Include Fertilizer Rx Maps: This option generates a Rx map to go with any Master Soil book that includes a live fertility request. (Live Fert.rec options are only on farm and field level MSB requests)
  • Include Aggregate Fertilizer Rx Maps: This option generates farm level Rx Maps for Master Soil Book requests that include Live Fertility setup information.
  • Use Most Recent Date with Sample Data: This option forces the Master Soil book to use the most recent soil sample data by default.
  • Overlay Sample Sites: This option causes sample sites to appear on maps as and overlaid layer.
  • Include ID Values: This option will display the ID for each sample.
  • Include Sample Values: This option will display the value for the selected element, in either ppm or lbs/ac, depending on the settings in the Unit Preference tool.
  • Show Custom Element Descriptions: Some labs report back elemental descriptions (Low, Very Low, ect) Selecting this option causes any elemental descriptions reported back to show within the Sample Site overlay that appears on elemental maps.
  • Elements: Select elements for elemental maps (Both single and 4-panel)

  • Additional Email(s):Select any additional emails for the report .

Please Note: Master Soil Book requests will not run live. All Master Soil Book request results will be delivered by email.

  • Cover Sheet: Uploading a cover sheet here will cause all Master Soil Books requested under the location selected to include the cover sheet unless they delete the input within the Master Soil Book menu upon generation

Scouting

The Scouting sub-tab of the Location Preferences tool allows users to enable/disable attributes available when creating scouting events at a specified location.

  1. Make any desired changes by checking/unchecking boxes next to the attribute.

  1. Click Submit to save any changes.

Crop Areas

The Crop Areas tab allows users to set crop defaults for certain attributes to speed up the crop area creation process.

  1. Click the green + to add a new crop.
  2. Search for the desired crop.
  3. Set the Planting Date, Harvest Date, and Yield Goal/ Unit for the crop.

  1. Click Submit to save any changes.

Boundaries

The Boundaries tab allows users to set preferences relating to boundaries for a given location.

Read-Only Boundaries: Checking this box will lock all boundary edits for the location. This also includes editing and creating sub-field Crop Areas.
