Seed Management

The Administrative tool "Seed Management" may be used to pre-populate Variety, Commodity and Manufacture drop-down menus in the Field Trial tool.

 Opening Seed Management Tool and Adding New Varieties

1. Click the menu icon in the upper-most right-hand corner of the screen, and select the "Administration" option.
2. The system opens the "Administration" window. Select Tool: "Seed Management".
3. The system opens "Seed Management Tool" with the "Variety" tab open.
4. Click the "Add Variety" button and the system opens an input line for the new Variety.
5. Input the details for the Variety then click the diskette icon to save.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 to add all the varieties desired.

Adding New Commodities

1. Within the Seed Management tool, navigate to the Commodity tab.
2. Click "Add Commodity" in the upper left beneath the Variety tab.
3. Enter the desired Commodity Name and Abbreviated Commodity Name (Abbreviated Commodity Name is not required).
4. Click the Save icon to the right of the input line.

Adding New Manufactures

1. Click the Manufacture tab, and the system opens the tab.
2. Click the "Add Manufacture" button, and the system opens an input line for the new manufacturer. 
3. Input the details for the Manufacture [4] and [5] then click the save disk icon to the right of the input line to save.
4. Repeat steps 2-3 to add all the manufacturers desired.

Adding New Manufacturer Seed Treatments

1. Click the Manu. Seed Treatment tab, and the system opens the tab.
2. Click the "Add Manufacture Seed Treatment" button, and the system opens an input line for the new seed treatment.
3. Select the year [6], Commodity [7], and Manufacturer [8] for the treatment.
   1. Commodity and Manufacturer must be created prior to creating the treatment.
4. Enter the desired Full Treatment Name [9] as well as the Abbreviated Treatment name [10].
5. Click the save disk icon to the right of the input line.

Adding New Dealer Seed Treatments

1. Click the Dealer Seed Treatment tab, and the system displays available Dealer Seed Treatments.
2. Click the Add Dealer Seed Treatment button, and the system opens a new input line for the new seed treatment.
3. Input the details for the seed treatment then click the diskette icon to save.
   1. Manufacturers and Commodities must be created prior to setting up a Dealer Seed Treatment.
4. Repeat steps 2-3 to add all the dealer seed treatments desired.

Additional Seed Management Functions 

Click the .xls icon for an xls format report of all stored varieties.

Click the filter icon to filter stored varieties. 

Click the x icon to delete any entry. 

Click the pencil icon to edit any entry.

Click the Cancel icon to cancel an entry/edit.
