Creating Chemical Application Work Orders

Like fertilizer application work orders, chemical application orders can be used to setup applications for specific fields with products at defined rates, during a defined application window. They may or may not be connected to an outside billing software, and can provide status notifications as the job is updated.

Note: This Work Order was created with the optional setting to certify sensitive crops as well as the optional application timing requirement.

Selecting Work Order Type and Grower Profile


  1. In the Work Order tab, click Add Work Order to the right of the screen.
  2. Select Chemical Application for Type.  [1]
  3. Select desired VAR, Bu, Location and Grower.  [2]
  4. Make sure Sync with ERP is toggled to On when creating a Work Order for an ERP connected grower.
  5. Click Save to continue.

Add Job Wizard - Profiles

  1. Add relevant fields by expanding profile  [4] and selecting desired fields from the drop down menu [5] once the boundary is selected, click the green plus icon. The field will appear as the image below.
  2. Select Commodity [6]

  1. Sensitive Crop Information. Chemical Application work orders must designate whether or not they are applying chemical near a field with sensitive crops. Click on the menu icon in the upper right corner of the field preview, as highlighted in the image to the right. Select Sensitive Crops from the drop down menu and selecting the correct option from the popup menu. Click Certify to return to the Work Order creation page. This same menu contains a Job Description selection allowing for a description to be added.
  2. Click Products  [7] to Continue to the next step.

Add Job Wizard - Chemical Products

  1. Input desired Product, Application Rate, and Unit of measure. [8]Please Note: If utilizing the CDMS check function, begin to type desired product, selecting the appropriate product when it displays within the pop up list. Additionally, at this point, an entered rate that is not compliant with CDMS will highlight the Application Rate box in red. To check the appropriate rate of the selected Product, move the cursor over the i symbol [9] in between Total Quantity and REI
  • REI: Stands for Restricted Entry Interval, and describes the number of days between application and the day the field may be re-entered physicality. If utilizing CDMS check and the corresponding value is known by CDMS, this will populate automatically. If not, the value may be input.
  • PHI: Stands for Pre-Harvest Interval, and describes the number of days between application and the day the field may be harvested. If utilizing CDMS check and the corresponding value is known by CDMS, the value will populate automatically. If not, the value may be input.
  • Target Pest(s): This option is used for record keeping purposes..
  1. To add a carrier, Input desired Product, Application Rate, and Unit of measure, within the Fertilizer portion of the window [10] and toggle the Carrier option to Yes [11]
  2. (Optional) Click Add Product and repeat step #15 for additional products. Click the red x to the right of the product line to delete a product. 
  3. Click on the Scale icon in the top right corner of the window to calculate total target rate for the blend. [12]
  4. If multiple products are input, the products can be clicked and dragged into desired Tank Mix Order by clicking on the 3 bars to the left of the the product
  5. Click Options to Continue. [13]

Add Job Wizard - Notes/Misc

All inputs within this window are optional.

  1. Make desired selections
  • Window Start and Window End Dates: These refer to the window of time that the work order is expected to be completed in. Click the input fields in turn and then click on the dates needed within the Calendar that appears.
  • Window Start and End Date Alerts: Selecting these check boxes causes an email alert to be sent when either the start or the end date has passed.
  • Application Timing: Select the type of application between Pre Planting, In Season, and Pass.
  • Send Notification Emails: Selecting this option causes notification emails to send when there is a status change for a work order.
  • Send SMS/Text Alert: This option causes Work Order email updates to send by SMS text message. Select option check box, then input mobile phone number, and provider information. Click  to add more text alerts, or click  to delete.
    • Please Note: Carrier charges may apply.
  • Attach File: This option allows for a directed sampling file to be attached to the work order. Click Upload File link text, then click the "Browse" button. Select the file from computer, then click "Open". Click "Upload". Any file attached here will be passed along with any emailed job (if Send Email Attachments box is checked), as well as any "Download Job" action.
  • Note: Notes appear within "Job Details" and Work Order PDF reports under a "Notes:" section
  1. Once all requirements in the Lab and Options Tabs are met, Click Save  [14] to finish the Work Order.
