Blend Groups

The Blend Groups Tool may be used to set up a set of products to be considered together within the Work Order tab Nutrient Calculator for Fertilizer work order types.

Accessing Blend Groups Tool

1. Click the menu icon in the upper right hand corner of FieldAlytics screen

2. Click "Tools"

3. The system opens "Tools" menu window. Use drop-down menu to select "Blend Groups".

Creating a Blend Group

  1. Select a Location . Please Note: Only Fertilizer Work Orders under this location will have access to the created blend group. 
  2. A new Blend Group can be added by clicking the Green plus icon or a previously made Blend Group can be selected for modification.
  3. If creating a new blend group, input a name for the blend group. 
  4. Click the second plus icon to add a product to the blend. 
  5. Use the drop-down menus to select a particular product.  Please Note: Available products are populated by their entry within the Product Management tool
  6. Use the up and down arrows  to adjust the product priority. Please Note: Products that display first in the blend group are first in priority when used within the work order nutrient calculator. 
  7. Click "Save". 

Utilizing Blend Groups within Work Order Nutrient Calculator

  • Saved Blend Group will only display for a Fertilizer Application Work Order type, created under the location selected in step #1 above.
1. Create a new Fertilizer Work Order. Documentation on how to make a new Fertilizer Application Work Order can be found here: Creating Fertilizer Application Work Orders

2. Once within the Work Order wizard, after selecting your desired fields, navigate to the Products tab and click Blend Calculator.

3. A new pop up with the blend calculator will appear, follow the instructions below.

4. Select a blend group[1]. 

5. Leave "Allow excess nutrients" [2] option checked to allow the calculator to over apply one nutrient to meet another nutrient requirement, or un-check this option to cause the nutrient calculator to calculate as close to the requirement as it can without going over the requirement. 

6. Input desired lb/acre value for nutrients into "Target" [3] input line. 

6. The system will display the actual [4] calculated lb/acre value , and displays the blend % [5]and product breakdown below. 

7. "Low Cost Mode" [6] will choose the Lowest Cost/Acre product when being run on the same Element. 

8. Products can be add to the blend manual by selecting product in the Add Product drop down [7] and clicking "Add Product" button. Please Note: The Add Product option is removed with "Low Cost Mode" turned "On".      

9. When satisfied with calculations, click "Select".

10. Continue work order as normal.

Adding Merchant Ag Integration Products to Nutrient Calculator

If the Fertilizer work order being created is for a Merchant Ag integration enabled grower, then the Nutrient Calculator will allow for ingestion of Fertilizer products configured in Merchant Ag.

1. Within the Nutrient Calculator screen, click the drop-down menu at the bottom of the screen, then select desired fertilizer.
