Fertility Analysis: User Rx
The Fertility tab User Rx feature allows prescriptions to be created manually as well as saved Rx's to be loaded and modified for the elements, Lime, N, P2O5, and K2O. The analysis type User Rx allows users to define the product rates for points/zones in a field, and as such, requires soil samples to be present. User Rx will use the most recent samples for positional and elemental values in the analysis.
Accessing User Rx
- I the Fertility tab click the gray Rx icon [1] listed within the profile tree under the Grower, Farm or Field level.
- Expand profile tree, and select desired field(s) then click "Continue", see image below.
Please Note: While multiple fields can be selected, they will be listed individually in the User Rx spreadsheet.
Understanding User Rx Spreadsheet
- User Rx Selection [2]: If a User Rx has been created and saved for the profile previously, this drop-down menu will allow for that User Rx to be selected for modification.
- Create New User Rx [3]: Click this green plus icon to create a new User Rx for the corresponding field listed under column A
- Individual Save Button and Drop-Down [4]: Click the "Save" button to save changes made to a User Rx, the black triangle drop-down can be used to rename or delete an existing User Rx.
- User Rx Input Columns [5]: Inputting values (either lbs/ac or ppm depending on column header) in any of these 6 columns will provide the system a rate value per point in the eventual rx generated. Loading a saved rx will populate the relevant columns from these six input columns for modification.
- Column Configuration Icon [6]: Clicking this button allows for reference columns to be hidden or viewed. See User Rx Column Configuration subsection below.
- "Import SavedRx" Button: Clicking this button allows a previously generated Saved Rx to be selected to load within the User Rx window for modification. For more help loading Saved Rxs in User Rx and performing modifications, see Creating a New User Rx from a Saved Rx subsection below.
- "Save All" Button: Clicking this button allows for User Rx details across all fields to be saved.
User Rx Column Configuration
- In the Fertility tab click the gray Rx icon [1] listed within the profile tree under the Grower, Farm or Field level to access the User Rx input window
- Expand profile tree, and select desired field(s) then click "Continue", see subsection above Accessing User Rx.
- Click the gear icon [6] displayed in upper right corner of the User Rx window.
- The Column Configuration window opens allowing for the selection/deselection of individual columns
- Clicking "Toggle Columns" causes all nutrient reference columns to become deselected. Click again to select all. Click to select or deselect desired columns for display, then click "Save" and User Rx screen will update accordingly.
Creating a New User Rx from Soil Sample Data
- Select the gray User Rx icon [1] from the profile tree within the Fertility tab.
- Select the desired fields from within the User Rx - Select Profiles window, then select "Continue", see subsection above Accessing User Rx.
- The User Rx spread sheet opens, see below image.
- Select the add "+" button [3] which opens a new window, see image on right.
- Enter a recommendation name [9] in the window and click "Submit" [10].
Please Note: The check box clear recommendation columns [11] will clear values (if any) in the User Rx Input Columns [5] when checked. - Within the User Rx window, each soil point (or zone) can have an desired elemental output entered, in lbs/ac for one or more of the elements Lime, N, P2O5, and K2O. The below example highlights the columns [12] that would have values entered for a P and K rec.
- Once all desired values for all elements have been entered, click "Save All" then "Close"
- After saving, this User Rx can be used to generate controller files and PDFs. See Utilizing Saved User Rx in Fertility for Controller File Generation subsection below.
Creating a New User Rx from a Saved Rx
Saved Rxs can be loaded into the User Rx tool for custom point-by-point modification. Once the modification has been performed, that saved User Rx may then be loaded into Fertility for generation of recommendation files and PDF reports.
- Select the gray User Rx icon [1] from the profile tree within the Fertility tab.
- Select the desired fields from within the User Rx - Select Profiles window, then select "Continue", see subsection above Accessing User Rx.
- The User Rx spread sheet opens, see below image.
- Selecting the "Import SavedRx" button [7] will allow for the selection of a previously created Saved Rx. This will populate the user input columns [12] with values from the Saved Rx, where present.
- Once desired modifications have been made on a point by point basis, select "Save All" [8] then "Close".
- After saving, this User Rx can be used to generate controller files and PDFs. See Utilizing Saved User Rx in Fertility for Controller File Generation subsection below.
Utilizing Saved User Rx in Fertility for Controller File Generation
Once a User Rx has been created and saved using the above steps, it must be run through the analysis type: User Rx for final element addition, product selection, and interpolation before Saved Rx PDFs and controller files can be produced.
- From the Fertility tab, select fields with stored User Rx setups within the profile tree.
- Select User Rx as the Analysis type [13].
- Select the previously saved User Rx setup from the User Rx drop-down [14].
- Select desired element from the drop-down [15] and use the "Add Element" button [16] for each desired element.
- Select the desired product for each added element and any additional desired options. For additional guidance on setting up Removal Functions, Elemental Inputs, or Report Options, see Fertility Analysis: Soil Fertility.
- The Use Rx Values as Product Rate [17] option, when un-checked will use the elemental rate from the User Rx spread sheet, when this option is checked calculations will be performed to take into account the purity (percentage) of element in the specific product.
- When all desired settings have been input, select "Submit Rx" [18] to produce the recommendation.
Please Note: The rec can now be exported as a Report, Controller File, or saved to the profile tree from the black Prescriptions box on the map.
