Directed Sample Layers

Directed Sample Level Actions

Directed sample layers may be used in conjunction with the Work Order tab, and the FieldAlytics Mobile app to guide users to where soil samples need to be taken within fields or to save sampling point locations for future use. See help below for options present on directed sampling data layers. For help in creating Directed Samples, see help topic "Field Level Add Data Import Option - Directed Samples"

Accessing Directed Sample Layer Options

  1. Click on any directed sampling layer within the Main tab.
  2. Once on the directed sampling layer, the directed sampling options load within the right side gray panel.

Directed Sample Layer Options Explained

  • Print Map: Clicking Download for this option opens a separate browser window that contains a field map with all the point locations listed within the field image.
  • Download Points: Clicking this option causes the system to open a separate browser window then delivers a shape file version of the directed sampling layer within that window.
  • Add Boundary: This option goes with the "Download Points" option above. When selected, this option causes the boundary shape file to come with boundary data as well as point data.
  • Download Points (as KML): Clicking this download button causes the system to open a separate browser window, then delivers a KML file of the points within that window.
  • Submit Points: Clicking the "Submit" button for Submit Points causes the system to create an empty field sample layer within the field sample folder for the field.
  • Create Work Order: Clicking the submit for this option opens "Create Workorder" window. See last image on right. Fill in needed details then click "Submit" and the system will create a new soil sampling work order based on the directed sample layer.
  • Print Labels: Clicking this option causes the system to open a separate browser window and delivers field sample labels for the directed sample layer.
