Product Management - Chemicals & Seeds

Users working within the Product Management - Chemicals & Seeds tool will now have greater functionality and will also enjoy enhanced performance improvements.

Several key updates that have been put in place will ensure users can easily search, filter and find desired chemical products used within their business. Custom inputs and product additions/creations can easily be managed within the interactive modal.

Getting Started

Both Chemical and Seed products are available within the Product Management tool, with Chemical being the default tab open. Users must then select a location profile to help isolate the product list display. Once selected, the system will quickly load all available chemical products. To assist with page load efficiency, the output result offers a paginated page display function. This method matches the same display method used within the Work Order Overview display.

To then help the users find and work with a desired product, a series of filter functions are then available. Users will be able to filter by any of the following criteria:

Product Name

  • Allows the user to search by known product name. The system will then limit the product display to only those matching the provided text criteria.

Product Type

  • A provided dropdown list is available to the user that will allow them to select the desired products sub-type category.

Product Manufacture

  • A provided dropdown list is available to the user that will allow them to limit the products by the selected manufacturer.

Product Source (CDMS or Custom)

  • This option allows the user to limit the product display to either CDMS provided products or manually entered/created custom chemical products.

Product Information

Within the Chemical Product Management tool, the system will showcase key information and attributes about each product. Users will be able to quickly identify, sort, and modify information around several key categories. On display for the user will be the Product Type, Manufacturer, EPA number, 3rd Party ID, CMDS ID, Product Density, Work Order Unit of Measure, Transfer Unit of Measure as well as the desired display for the Retail Product Price.

For some of these listed attributes, the values are fixed and cannot be modified or controlled by the user. Others however, can be.

3rd Party ID

  • This option allows a client group to link the product from FieldAlytics to a unique ID used within their billing software or other 3rd party program.

Density

  • Allows the user to supply a product weight density. This value is then used within the Work Order functions and various output displays.

WO UOM

  • The Work Order Unit of Measure allows for a location to set the default unit value that will be used whenever the listed product is selected for use.

Trans UOM

  • This value is then the applied value used when providing product total values and passage of these to billing software solutions.

Retail Price

  • This entry will be the value used within the Field plans and Records system and used to help calculate cost estimates.

Editing a Product

With a desired product showing within the left side column display, select the “Edit” icon found to the far right. This will show as a “pencil” icon shaded in blue. At this time, the “Edit Profile Chemical Information” input modal will show for the user. Based on account level permissions, users with product editing access will then be able to “unlock” the product to make available changes and set default for the product.

Changes made to products can be limited to the current location enabled from the tool launch, or based on account profile permissions, can be set for the entire organization.

Finalize any updates by selecting the “Submit” button. This will close out the editor window and then update the main display.

AGRIS Product Support

Users of the AGRIS ERP now have the ability to create and modify chemical products within the chemical product management tool. Thus removing the need for bulk imports after initial product set onboarding.

Seed Product Management

Click on the Seed tab located near the top of the window to begin. Much like the Chemical tab, the Seed tab has access to many filters to narrow the results of the page

  • Variety Name Filter- type the variety name or partial variety name to search for all matches. For example searching RIB will display all varieties that have RIB anywhere in the Variety Name

  • Manufacturer Filter- a selectable list that limits the results to a single Seed Manufacturer
  • Commodity Filter- a selectable list that limits results to a single Commodity
  • Trait Filter- filters the results by a single trait
  • Source Filter- Select between CDMS and AGX seed sources (Defaulted to CDMS)
  • Hide Inactive- Toggling this will choose whether Seeds that are marked as Inactive are displayed

Clicking on the blue pencil icon to the right of a Seed Variety will display the Edit Profile Seed Information Window, click on the toggle in the bottom left corner to make changes to the information. Users may enter a 3rd Party ID for the seed, as well as set the Density, Unit Count and Retail Price. Toggling the Status to inactive will remove the seed from any search boxes within FieldAlytics. The Override toggle Near the top of the window will control whether the changes made to the seed apply to only the Location level or to the entire VAR. Click Submit to Save any changes made to the Seed

Seed Treatment

The Seed Treatment tab allows users to create and manage seed treatments for various crops. Initially, this tab will display any Seed Treatment that have been created. A Treatment Rate must be entered for each Chemical Treatment. Seed rate may also be change from lbs to cwt or Unit.
