iPad & iPhone Asset Tracking

Track Device Location option, will allow for the current geographic location of the ipad or iphone device to display within the FieldAlytics web software as a track-able asset. Follow all the help sections below to create a personnel asset that can be tracked, enabling tracking on the device, and then viewing device location. Function behavior also documented below.

Step 1: Creating a Personnel Asset (Performed through Web Software)

1. Within the "Assets" tab, right click over an asset folder and select " Add Asset".

2. Input a name for the asset, then select any of the Personnel types for "Asset Type", then click "Add".

3. Click to select the new asset from the asset folder within the profile tree.

4. The Asset form populates within the viewing area. Click " Edit asset....." link text.

5. Input a FieldAlytics username for "Email" input area, then input any other desired information about the asset, and click " Save".

Step 2: Enabling Tracking on the iPhone/ iPad Device (Performed through the Mobile App)

1. Log into the Mobile app, with the same user name that was entered in step #5 above.
2. From the welcome screen, tap option "Settings".

3. Toggle "Track Device Location as Asset" to on.

Step 3: Viewing Location (Performed through Web Software)

1. Within the Main tab, click the " Layers" option within the light blue taskbar.
2. Click the "Assets" option.
3. Select the needed personnel type assets, then click the " Show" check box.

4. The assets will then display within the map screen

What to Expect for iPad/iPhone Tracking

Positional data is gathered every 5 minutes while the Mobile app is active and open.
If data service cannot be reached from the device, the app will store up to 50 minutes of positional data, then transmits that data when internet service is re-established.
If Mobile app is not actively open on device, last known position will display, with Asset label displayed in white.
If Mobile app is actively open, Asset label will display in green.
