DTN ClearAg Weather

All weather information available through FieldAlytics is provided as an integrated service through DTN ClearAg weather. Read on for weather integration functionality within FieldAlytics.

Weather Layers

To Activate DTN ClearAg Weather Layer:
  1. From the Main tab above the map, click the "Layers" option from the blue task bar.
  2. From the dropdown menu, click "Weather".
  3. Click the "Show" check box.

Weather Layers Available

There are multiple weather layers available that can be accessed by clicking the menu in the lower right hand corner of the map.

  • Dewpoint (F)
  • Dewpoint (C)
  • Temperature (F)
  • Temperature (C)
  • Relative Humidity
  • Infrared Satellite
  • Water Vapor Satellite
  • Hourly Precipitation
  • Precip. Last 24hr
  • Precip. Next 24hr
  • Radar
  • Soil Moisture
  • Soil Temperature (F)
  • Soil Temperature (C)
  • Hourly Snow
  • Snow Last 24hr
  • Snow Next 24hr
  • Visibility
  • Visibility Min Next 24hr
  • Wind Speed
  • Wind Gust
  • Wind Speed Max Next 24hr
Animated Radar Controls
The "Radar" layer displays as animated looping gifs, with animation controls displayed just above the weather histogram. 
  • Click pause radar animation. Time stamp will display date and time of image capture.
  • Click resume radar animation. Time stamp will loop time stamp in accordance with the radar image.

Query Location Forecast Weather

Current weather standings and hourly forecasts can be generated for any location within the Main tab.
To Query Location:
1. Right click over desired area within the map screen.

2. The system will display the following menu. Select "Query Location"

3. The system will display the following screen, select desired unit of measure and then click "Query Location".

4. The "Weather Details" window opens, populated with current weather standings above, then hourly weather forecasts in the area below. See image on right.

Field Level Weather PDF

Field level Weather History PDF reports can be generated on any field with a boundary and can contain Max, Min and Average temperature values, Max and Average Wind speeds, Daily and Accrued Rainfall and Grower Degree Days for a user supplied date range.
To Generate Weather PDF:
1. Select any Field in the Main tab that has a boundary.

. With the field selected, go to the right side gray panel and click on the "Reports" Drop down menu (see image below) to select " Weather (PDF)".

3. The "Generate Weather Report" window opens. Select a date range desired, any additional options and then click "Run Report".

4. Report arrives in method selected. See example report pages with "DD60 Calculation" (Grower Degree Days (F)) included, on right.
