Rx Mgmt Tool - Raster Generation
The Rx Mgmt Tool is available at the Grower and Farm Level Tools on Main Tab allowing users to setup a Rx Raster layer, which allows for the conjoining of spatial layer(s)(Elevation, Field Samples, Management Zones, Yield and Yield Potential) into one single data Rx Raster Layer for use of overriding user variables downstream within the Fertility module for Fertilizer and Seeding recommendations.
The "Use Rx Raster Input" will be used similarly to the "Use Zone Input" option within Fertility for overriding User Variables within an equation logic. However, where the Use Zone Input option is limited to one management zone, the "Use Rx Raster Input" allows for the conjoining of multiple layers types into one layer for referencing the overriding of variables. This allows for a broader reach across spatial layers to optimize user variable inputs.
Please note: This tool only works with numerical values. Referencing a data source of alpha-numerical values will not generate a layer.
How to Create Rx Raster Layers:
The Rx Mgmt Tool is found on the Main tab at the Grower or Farm level in right hand pane by clicking "Tools">Rx Mgmt.
The Rx Management window is comprised of 2 tabs (1): Profile Layer Management and Rx Setup. The Rx Setup tab is only made available after one or more fields are selected. The Profile Management tab will provide a breakdown of each field(2) under the Grower/Farm profile with the Crop Year(3), Assigned Crop(4), Date Last Run(5) for the last Rx Raster creation, and Data Availability(6) for Rx setup use.
The Rx Setup tab allows you select Field Data Layers(1), the Layers Selections(2) displays the current Field Data Layers added to run on the output, the Output Name(4) is the name that will be presented in the profile tree, and the apply names to all rows button(4) will cascade that name into all other output name boxes. To speed up the running of the Raster creation you can select previously made templates in the Apply Template(5) drop down and Create/Edit/Update templates using the "Edit/Update Template"(6) button. The Submit(7) button will illuminate once all field(s) have layer(s) selected and an output name entered.
The Edit/Update Template button will prompt a new window "Edit/Update Rx Raster Template". The first drop down(1) box displayed will give you an option to "Create New Template" or choose a previous template to load. The middle box(2) will populate a template name, which can be edited. The last drop down(3) allows you to add the desired Layer Types. When layer(s) are added, they will display below with Selection Criteria(4) and Layer Attributes(5) to assign. The Yield Potential layers will look back from the current year to the number of years(7) chosen for Yield Potentials created from the data sources selected in drop down(8). Please Note: The Management Zones layer needs to be the exact layer name and column name to reference on the output, so if using across multiple fields make sure to use the same naming structure.
Once generated, the Rx Raster sub layer will be made available under the field(s) to which the Rx Setup was submitted. The created layers will be sorted by folder year in which they were created.
How to use Rx Raster layers in Fertility Tab:
The primary use for the Rx Raster layer will be in Fertility in running of recommendation for use in the overriding of user variables. The check box for "Use Rx Raster Input" will prompt the Rx Raster Input Tool window to pop-up upon hitting the "Submit Rx" button. Please Note: This option is only available with the Analysis types of Soil Fertility, Seeding and Equ Input Rx.
After hitting Submit Rx the Rx Raster Input Tool window will pop-up. The field(s) will be displayed in the left side of window. Going through one field at a time, you'll select the Rx Raster Layer name in the drop down(1). Beneath the drop down will be User Variables for the equation, in the below example "Yield Goal" is our user variable. Clicking the Rx Raster Attribute drop down(2) will allow you to assign the desired raster layer to the user variable. The "Previous Field" and "Next Field" button(3) allows users to move through the list of fields to assign attributes. Upon clicking "Submit"(4), the recommendation will process and display live or be pushed to the background for processing if "Email Results" is utilized.
How to Pre-Assign Raster Layers to Equations:
After creating Raster Layers you can load them up on the Main Tab and click the "Create/Update Default"(1) button in the right hand pane. The Default Rx Raster window will pop up allowing for the predefining of Equation Attributes. The Fertility Equation Type(2) has the option of Seeding or Fertility this will dictate the equations available based on the type that is selected. The "Add All Attributes"(3) button will place all spatial layers run in the Raster Layer under the Rx Raster Attribute table. The Rx Raster Attribute(4) drop down displays the spatial layer being used, Equation(5) drop down will be the equation in Fertility this layer will automatically work with when setup, and the Equation Attribute(6) is the user variable being overriding by the Rx Raster Attribute assigned. Once submitted, the inputs will be applied in the Fertility tab when using the "Use Rx Raster Input" option allowing the user to skip the "Rx Raster Input Tool" pop up in Fertility.
Raster Layers setup for automatic use in Fertility will have (A) at the back of name.
