Seed Management - 2025 updates

To allow maximum flexibility and control, users can now easily setup and define their own custom seeds within the Seed/Chemical Product Mgmt tool. This new ability not only allows for clients to have full customization and definition around their desired seed products, but also then uniquely ties these products into their Fertilty/Seed Rx scripts and reports.

Getting Started

From the TOOLS menu, users will launch into the "Product Management - Chemicals & Seeds" tool. The next step would be to select a location to help limit the product display list to the correct association. Then, the user would need to select the "Seed" tab. By default this will load the CDMS variety listing which is the pre-populated list that all clients will have available to them.

From the "Source Filter" option, change the selected display to "Custom". Any current custom variety entries will now load and display for the user as well as action buttons to create any new variety entries needed for use.

Adding a new Custom Variety

Select the "add" button to begin the entry process. Once selected a secondary pop-up modal will display showcasing the full list of items a user can define for their new product/variety.

Any required entries will be outlined in RED. Ensure that values have been supplied providing any additional information and detail as needed to fully identify the information associated to the seed variety being created.

Using Custom Varieties in Fertility

Within the Fertility module, navigate to the "Seeding" analysis mode. Once selected, pick the desired Equation Set and Crop. Updates to the UI now have removed the need to pick a Sub-Crop or the Seed element.

A locations "Default" product should be present/visible. To change this selection, click within the "Product" selection box. This action will pop-up a new "Select Seed Variety" display modal. To help limit and find the needed variety, users can pick between their CDMS listing or "Custom".

Helpful "search" functions will allow users to type in a name and have the overall listed reduced to matching instances of the provided text/values.

With the desired product "Submitted", the Fertility/Seed UI will then display this custom product/Variety along with any other needed inputs to fully run the Seed Rx request.

PDF and Map layers both will display the selected custom variety.
