Tissue Sampling on Mobile

Tissue Sampling can be done from within FieldAlytics Mobile. To create a Tissue Sampling Work Order please see our Help Document HERE.

Loading a Job

To start a Tissue Sampling Job, navigate to the Work Orders tab and tap on the desired Tissue Sampling Work Order.

Now select the Job.

From within the Job Details, tap on Load Job located in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will set the job status to In-process, a box asking if you would like to set the job to In-process will appear. tap yes to continue.

Now, users can either choose to begin collecting samples without direction by tapping on Collect Samples, or tap on Edit Targets to Import or create a grid to guide the sampling process.

Creating a Grid

Tap Edit Targets to create a directed sample layer for the Tissue Sampling Job. Tap on New Grid to begin.

Now enter the Grid Dimensions and make any needed changes to Starting ID. Next tap Create Grid.

The defined grid will now populate to cover the field. Users may drag the grid and rotate to best fit the field. Tap Accept at the bottom of the screen then Save to apply the sampling grid to the job.

The grid will now appear within the Job, Sampling may now begin.

Collecting Samples

To start collecting samples, tap on Collect Samples at the bottom of the screen.

Current Target and Distance to target is displayed at the top of the screen. Dragging down on this box will give users the option to navigate to the Lowest ID or the Nearest sample point, as well as the option for the application to follow the User.

The Record Sample Window may popup automatically when near a point, depending on the users Sampling Settings within FieldAlytics Mobile. The record button can also be pressed at any time to record the current target or create a new sample.

Once the record button has been pressed, the Record Sample window will populate. For Tissue Sampling, a Growth Stage must be set on the first sample collected. All subsequent samples will automatically use the last inputted Growth Stage. Tap Scan Barcode to access the camera to scan the barcode of the sample. Tap Save to return to the map.

Sample Points are color coded to facilitate with the sampling job. Yellow is the current target, light blue indicates points that are yet to be collected, while dark blue points have already been collected.

Targets may also be deleted as needed by tapping on the target and then Delete.

Once all targets have been completed, users will be asked if they would like to complete the job. Select Yes to finish.

Lab Check in Sheet

The Lab Check-In Sheet is sent via email automatically upon job completion and can also be viewed manually if desired. To view the Lab Check-In Sheet tap on the ... in the upper right corner of the screen and select View Lab Check-In Sheet.
