KSI Seed Setup

KSI Seed is the first integrated Seed Treater within FieldAlytics. Seed Treater assets can be utilized when creating a Delivery Ticket Work Order that contains a seed treatment. Please see our Delivery Ticket- Seed Treatment help document on how to create one of these work orders after the seed treater setup.

Setting up the Seed Treater Asset in FieldAlytics

• Navigate to the Assets tab within FieldAlytics
• Right click on the profile level in which you would like to setup the treater(s)
• Situationally, considerations need to be taken operationally as to which profile level the blender(s) will be setup at. Most users utilizing this integration will set the treaters up at the location level.
• Click 'Add Asset Folder' the name the asset folder and then click 'Add'

• Right click on the new asset folder name and select 'Add Asset'

• Name the asset and select Asset Type: Seed Treater under the Points of Interest section then click 'Add'

• The name entered here within FieldAlytics will be used to select when selecting the asset within Work Orders
• Left click on the newly added blender and click 'Edit asset......'

• First click on the Manufacturer box and select KSI Seed
• For KSI Seed Blenders, a matching Asset ID to the machine must be set to be linked to the treater.
• Enter the blender information as it pertains to the blender being setup.

A few things to mention:

• As noted above, Asset ID is the key piece of the setup for the seed treatment system
  • This is used as the cross reference for sending and receiving jobs
• A product CSV file can be exported from within Tools > Product Management - Chemicals & Seeds
  • This can be used to import product configurations within the KSI interface
  • This includes product name, FieldAlytics GUID, 3rd Party ID (if applicable), among other attributes of the product(s)
• The treatments used in FieldAlytics must also be setup within the Treater's software with matching Treatment Names
  • Treatments can be included in the product CSV mentioned above
• FieldAlytics only submits the Treatment Name, Seed Variety and Quantity to KSI seed treaters to be dispensed
• KSI specifically has several different methods for handling units, namely "weight", "weight unit", and "seed unit"
  • FieldAlytics sends the quantity to KSI as either "weight unit" or "seed unit" and never the raw "weight" value
    • This is due to the nature of the treatment system as the industry standard for ordering and requesting seed product will be in some configured unit of measure
  • These things considered, each seed product must be properly configured within the KSI system in order to facilitate order fulfillment
• If the organization would like, Wireless System can be set to 'Manual Tracking' to manually define the physical location of the blender
• Alternative map icons can be selected to represent the treater from the list of pre-defined icons available
• Address, Phone, Primary Contact, and Wireless System are all optional inputs for the blender
